The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially scheduled the 2026 Policy Meeting on Admissions for May 11, 2026. The event will take place at the Body of Benchers Auditorium in Jabi, Abuja.
For admission seekers, this is the most important gathering of the year as it formally kicks off the 2026/2027 admission exercise.
What is on the Agenda?
- Official Cut-Off Marks: The board and stakeholders will decide the minimum tolerable UTME scores for admission into universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education nationwide.
- New Policy Directions: The Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa, will unveil key policy updates guiding this year's admission process.
- Admission Guidelines: The meeting will set the strict rules and regulations that all tertiary institutions must follow when screening and admitting candidates.
Who Will Be in Attendance?
The policy meeting brings together the top decision-makers in Nigeria's tertiary education sector, including:
- Vice-Chancellors, Rectors, and Provosts of all institutions.
- Registrars and dedicated Admission Officers.
- Education regulatory bodies (NUC, NCCE, NBTE).
- Stakeholders from NELFUND and the NYSC.
Alongside the policy discussions, JAMB will also host the 6th Edition of the National Tertiary Admissions Performance-Merit Awards (NATAP-M), which recognizes institutions that strictly adhere to admission guidelines and contribute to the development of the education sector.
